My Background
I have been teaching mathematics and music lessons throughout my career. In 2008, I formed DHW Designs, LLC to support my self-employment endeavors.

Mathematics: In 1994 I was certified to teach secondary mathematics in Ohio. Since 2017, I have been certified to teach mathematics grades 5-12 in Minnesota. I currently teach Minnesota high school aged students through Minnesota Virtual Academy and have taught as a Math Interventionist at Deer River Schools (grades 6-8), as a Math Teacher at Greenway High School (grades 7-8) and as a Long-term Substitute Math Teacher at Osseo Area School's Distance Learning Academy (grades 6-12).

Music: Since 1983, I have been a professional performer on horn (early horn - Baroque and Classical styles - and modern valved horn). I enjoy solo, chamber, opera, and orchestral performance ensembles. Performance highlights include recent performances with Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, North Lights Music Festival, Lyra Baroque and Bach Society of MN in St. Paul, Tafelmusik with Opera Atelier in Toronto, ONT, Columbus Symphony Orchestra in Columbus, OH and at Carnegie Hall. I also perform with my local community orchestra, Itasca Symphony Orchestra at the Reif Performing Arts Center, Grand Rapids, MN.

I am an instructor for brass players, especially on horn and trumpet, to students of all levels and ages.

My greatest joy is to share may passion and find a way to develop the interests, skills and passions of my students.
